Calvin Ralph McClymonds, 67, of Portersville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, following a short illness.

He was born in Osceola County, Fla., on Jan. 13, 1957, to Floyd Calvin McClymonds and Doris Mae Cooper McClymonds. Calvin graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1976.

He married Darlene Sue Hempfling on Aug. 17, 2002.

He was owner/operator of McClymonds Tree Service, located in Portersville. Calvin was a lover of the great outdoors, an avid hunter, fisherman and marksman. He loved his family; his best bud and son, Brylee Boy, his dog; and his grandchildren. Some of his grandchildren referred to him affectionately as “Happy Halvin.” He was a mentor to many and loved to teach all he knew to others. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. He will forever be remembered for his famous phrase “Good Job.”

Survivors include his wife, Darlene at home, sons, William Lunn and David (Caitlin) Lunn all of Portersville; daughter, Freedom (John) Byers of Grove City; three brothers, Gary (Donna) McClymonds of Portersville, Jeff (Pat) McClymonds of Slippery Rock and Steve (Carol) McClymonds of Virginia; 12 grandchildren, D’Andre (Tessa) Byers; Josephine Byers; Maximilian (Laney) Byers; Jackson Byers; Annie Nardulli; Emily Nardulli; Max Nardulli; Alli (Mitch) Swartz; Chloe Lunn; Spender Andrews; Felix Lunn and Marceline Lunn; two great-grandchildren, Malia Byers and Myla Swartz; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

MCCLYMONDS — The family of Calvin Ralph McClymonds, who died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Friday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock

There will be a service to celebrate Calvin’s life at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, led by Pastor Thomas Meling.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
