Rosalie Whitney, 86, of Butler, passed away on Monday, Aug. 19, 2024.

She was born in Library, Pa., on March 6, 1938, to the late Stefen and Olga Ritonia.

Rosalie went on from Snowden High School and graduated from Slippery Rock University in 1991. She became the director of marketing at ABC Home Healthcare.

Rosalie loved spending the holidays, especially Christmas, with her family. She greeted everyone with a big smile and made friends easily and kept them for a lifetime. She was a member of Bridge Club and enjoyed quilting, walking, doing jigsaw puzzles, and watching golf and the Pirates on TV.

Rosalie was the beloved wife of Raymond Whitney since their marriage on May 11, 1957; mother of Lee (Doreen) Whitney, Dan (Carol) Whitney and Kip Whitney; grandmother of Jack Whitney; and aunt of Stephen Crowe.

Along with her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by her sisters, Beverly Crowe and Annie Horgan; and her brother, Ed Butler.

WHITNEY — Family and friends of Rosalie Whitney, who died Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
