United States Steel Corporation is featured in “Military Makeover: Operation Career” on Lifetime TV in an episode titled, “Forging New Careers in Steel.” The series shares stories of military veterans who have successfully transitioned to civilian life by finding meaningful and rewarding career opportunities.

This episode engages audiences looking to learn more about the steel industry and the veterans who are making a difference by highlighting the personal and professional journeys of four military veteran members of U. S. Steel’s team:

“At U. S. Steel, we deeply value the skills, dedication, and leadership that veterans bring to our workforce,” said Mona Dine, U. S. Steel general manager, human resources and chief diversity officer. “Their commitment to service aligns perfectly with our mission to produce steel that builds a stronger, safer future. We support our veterans, not just in words, but through meaningful employment opportunities that leverage their unique talents and experiences.”

In 2023, 12% of new hires at U. S. Steel were veterans.

The episode will air on Lifetime TV at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, and Tuesday, Sept. 3, as well as on the Armed Forces Network, available to service members and defense personnel around the globe. It will be archived at https://militarymakeover.tv/category/operation-career/.

Earlier this year, U. S. Steel was named a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon company by the Minnesota National Guard, a designation that illustrates U. S. Steel's unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment for veterans. In 2023, U. S. Steel earned recognition from Military Times as a “Best for Vets: Employer,” an annual ranking that considers the nation’s top employers for their dedicated support efforts, comprehensive benefits, and robust military-connected employment programs.
