July 16 — Alexander R. McElhinny, 21, of Renfrew, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI related to a July 13 traffic stop on Chicora Road in Oakland Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed McElhinny was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at .101%. In Pennsylvania, .08% is the legal limit.
July 16 — Thomas E. Leith, 29, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor counts of drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession related to a July 12 traffic stop on Route 422 in Summit Township. Police said during a search of the vehicle, they found crack cocaine.
July 16 — Zavier I. Layne, 33, of Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a July 5 single-vehicle crash on Interstate 79. Police said field sobriety tests showed Layne was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at .162%. In Pennsylvania, .08% is the legal limit. Police said he later refused to have his blood tested.
July 14 — Paul T. Downey, 42, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a July 14 public drunkenness incident on West Sunbury Road, Cherry Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Downey was impaired and later refused to have his breath tested.
July 11 — Zachary S. Delso, 21, of Butler, was charged with four misdemeanor counts of DUI related to a May 25 traffic stop on North Main Street Extension in Center Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Delso was impaired, and a later blood test showed marijuana in his system.
July 11 — Tyler R. Kuntz, 28, of Mars, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI related to a June 16 traffic stop on Sophia Lane in Adams Township. Police said field sobriety test showed Kuntz was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at .129%. In Pennsylvania, .08% is the legal limit.
July 11 — Eric D. Letcher Jr., 42, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a May 17 traffic stop on Freeport Road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Letcher was impaired and later he refused to have his blood tested.
July 11 — Robert J. Emminger, 67, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to a May 23 investigation at Boscov’s. Police said security footage showed Emminger steal six packs of curtains for a total value of $85.
July 8 — Troy W. Verner, 52, of Petrolia, was charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor simple assault related to a July 5 domestic disturbance on Argyle Street in Petrolia. Police said Verner choked and repeatedly punched someone, causing multiple bruises and scratches.
July 18 — Christopher R. Maxwell, 42, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a July 7 traffic stop on East Grandview Avenue. Police said field sobriety tests showed Maxwell was impaired, but he later refused to have his blood tested.
