The Beacon Hotel in Forward Township presented the Special Olympics Pennsylvania organization with a check for $1,121 on Wednesday, Aug. 23, to support the organization’s mission to promote sports for those with intellectual disabilities.

The money was collected during The Beacon’s “Guns & Hoses” event which took place during the Police/Fire Can-Am Games in Butler County last month.

“This money will directly benefit these free programs and provide training opportunities for the athletes,” said Andrew Fee, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for Special Olympics Pennsylvania. “This is an amazing example of the power of community and the nature of the Special Olympics where people come together and support our athletes.”
