Joel B. Henderson, 70, of Butler passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 20, 1954, in Butler, he was the son of Ralph B. Henderson and Sally Adamson Henderson.

Joel graduated from Knoch High School in 1972. He was retired from his family-owned business, Henderson Builders, where he started work at age 12 with his best friend, his father.

He was a member of the NRA. Joel was an excellent craftsman in his wood shop. He was known for his enjoyment of scratch-off tickets and the lottery and he was a huge Pittsburgh sports fan.

Joel was an avid hunter for a variety of animals in places including Montana, Wyoming, Alaska, and even Africa. He was his girls’ biggest supporter from horses to projects and most recently attending his granddaughters’ softball games.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy J. Henderson, whom he married Oct. 12, 2001; his daughter, Joelene (Adam) Palace of Butler; two granddaughters, Ava and Olivia; one sister, Luellen (David Cohen) Henderson of Saxonburg; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Brent Henderson.

HENDERSON — Friends of Joel B. Henderson, who died Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.
