Task force on the attempted assassination of Donald Trump tours Butler Farm Show

Harold Aughton/Butler Eagle: Farm Show

CONNOQUENESSING TWP — The Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump has gotten “partial information” from federal agencies working on investigations of the July 13 assassination attempt of the former president, members of the group said Monday, Aug. 26.

The task force, consisting of 13 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, toured the Butler Farm Show grounds Monday, to get a firsthand look at how the attempted assassin got within inches of shooting Trump at his July campaign rally at the site.

U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16th, said after the tour that the task force has contacted agencies such as the FBI and the Secret Service for information regarding the investigation, but the committee is focused on accurate information rather than speedy information.

“We’ve made requests ... we did have a phone conversation last week with the FBI,” Kelly said. “None of us are looking at it as, ‘We have to get a quick answer,’ we’re looking at, ‘We have to get the right answer.’”

This is a developing story. Watch for a link to be added below with the full story.
