Cranberry EMS awarded certificates of achievement for excellence in life-saving care
Cranberry Township EMS received the American Heart Association’s Mission Lifeline Gold Achievement Award for the department’s proven dedication to best practices and lifesaving care.
The department also was recognized with the Mission Lifeline System of Care Target Heart Attack award, which highlights the collaboration between prehospital and hospital providers.
State Sen. Elder Vogel Jr., R-47th, and state Rep. Stephenie Scialabba, R-12th, presented the certificates of achievement to executive director and chief of Cranberry EMS Matt Nickl at an event on Monday morning.
Nickl said the awards are an honor for him and his mix of 40 full-time and part-time staff members, who have helped the department earn recognition from The American Heart Association in nine out of the last 10 years.
“I’ve been with the organization since 2011, and the amount of clinical growth that I’ve witnessed because of the staff is amazing to see,” said Nickl. “They continue to amaze me. For me, it’s nice being in this position because of this staff. They’re good at what they do.”
