Maryann Wallace

Wallace

Maryann Kaelin Wild Wallace, 81, of Harmony, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Nov. 20, 1942, on the Northside of Pittsburgh, she was the second child of Regis G. and Coletta (Schoenleber) Kaelin Sr.

Maryann was a proud 1956 graduate of St. Boniface School and 1960 graduate of St. Benedict Academy. She enjoyed playing basketball at both schools as well as for the Blue Cross Team of Western Pennsylvania.

Fondly known as “The Hat Lady” around Zelienople, Maryann's unwavering faith and decades of service as a dedicated Eucharistic minister and sacristan to St. Gregory Catholic Church touched the lives of many. Her devotion was honored with the Manifesting the Kingdom award by Bishop David Zubik in 2023, a true testament to her exceptional service to the diocese throughout her life.

As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Maryann cherished caring for her family. Finding the simple pleasures in life, she enjoyed her summers cutting grass, days in the pool and cleaning. In the winter, neighbors often found her bundled up enjoying the snow and shoveling her walk and driveway. Being an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, fall and winter Sundays were dedicated to attending home games following church.

Maryann leaves behind her love and strength, survived by her daughter, Lisa (David) McLeod of Caswell Beach, N.C.; her son, Raymond (Pamela) Wild; and her pride and joy, grandson, Brayden Wild, of Zelienople. She also is survived by her brother, Regis (Brooke) Kaelin Jr.; her brother-in-law, Richard (Bonnie) Heusey of Fombell; her sister, Lynne (Michael) Thompson of Millersville, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in death by her parents; sister, Bonnie Heusey; three infant brothers; and husbands, Raymond E. Wild in 1975, and Clark C. Wallace in 2008.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the medical staff that attended to her at AHN Wexford Hospital palliative and home hospice care.
