Donald Dambaugh
Donald Presley Dambaugh, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, in Wexford.
Born June 12, 1947, in Evans City, he was the son of the late Robert and Bertha Lucille (Anderson) Dambaugh.
Don was a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1965. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve and was trained to work on small engines. Don was an exceptionally talented mechanic, and he enjoyed working in his garage throughout his life, always welcoming family and friends to join him. He was also a second-generation Christmas tree farmer who had proudly owned and operated the family-run Pine Hill Farms after his dad planted the first tree. Don was happiest working on his farm and spending time with his four children and his true love, Cathy. Don was also an avid snowmobiler and member of the Allegheny Ridge Runners.
Don was known for his lifelong friendships, down-to-earth nature and great sense of humor. He worked incredibly hard at any job that needed done.
Donald is survived by his children, Kenneth Dambaugh of Renfrew, Melissa (Dipendra) Shrestha of Watertown, Mass., Christine Dambaugh and Corey Graham of Beaver Falls, and Dyanna (Adam) Boosel of Meridian. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Dominic, Daniel and Mary Dambaugh, Ethan and Jacob Shrestha, Marley Graham, and William Boosel; his sister, Betty Kane; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Denise) and John (Stacy) Meyer; his aunt, Michele Rheam; and dear friend, Kathleen Kummer.
Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend, Cathy Ann (Meyer), whom he married on April 5, 1975; two brothers, James and William; his in-laws, Paul and Pat Meyer; and two brothers-in-law, Paul and Stephen Meyer.
DAMBAUGH — Friends and family of Donald Presley Dambaugh, who died Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Private burial will be held at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
