Lutheran SeniorLife’s Visiting Nurses Association is hosting a “Beyond Memories” butterfly release at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Big Butler Fairgrounds.

The release of butterflies is meant to symbolize hope, comfort and positivity, and offer a touching tribute to loved ones who have recently passed. The event also will feature musical performances, poetry and the reading of names to celebrate the recently departed.

Those interested can pre-order butterflies for the event by Saturday, Aug. 31, by calling 724-431-3372. Proceeds from butterfly sales will go toward VNA Home Health and Hospice programs.
