The state Department of Transportation is performing maintenance on a number of roads in Butler County the week of Sept. 2.

Throughout the week, the department will perform shoulder cutting on portions of West Liberty Road, New Castle Road and Centreville Pike; and mowing on Evans City Road, Freeport Road, Ekastown Road, Perry Highway and Prospect Road.

The department will also flush pipes on Whitestown Road, Eberhart Road and New Castle Road. Centreville Pike and North Main Street in Slippery Rock will also be paved.

New Castle Road will also get crack sealing, and Dick Road will have parallel pipe replaced.

PennDOT will also perform bridge repair on Prospect Road.
