Penn Township holding recycling day Sept. 7

Penn Township is holding its annual Recycling Drive-through Event on Saturday, Sept. 7, at its municipal building on Airport Road from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in coordination with the waste management company Noble Environmental.

This is the fourth out of five drive-through chemical and electronic recycling events Noble Environmental is holding in Butler County this year. Previous events were held in Center Township, Forward Township, and Slippery Rock borough, with one more to be held in Adams Township on Nov. 9.

This event will accept almost all electronics and household hazardous waste for recycling, such as TVs, computers and laptops, printers, phones, paints, cleaning products, batteries and light bulbs.

However, some items are prohibited from being disposed of at this event. These include smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, explosives, tires, medical waste, and mercury or anything with mercury in it.

To take part in the event, registration is required through Noble’s website at nobleenviro.com.

Payment is required in advance and can only be done through credit card.
