Butler man charged with tattoo shop threat

A Butler man is facing charges after he allegedly threatened a tattoo shop worker and then brandished a knife after people in the shop pushed him outside.

Quinn D. Shanor, 25, was charged with terroristic threats and criminal mischief by city police following the alleged incident Tuesday, Sept. 3, on Center Avenue.

An employee at the Ink Vault told police that a man, later identified as Shanor, entered the shop and began arguing with a female who was receiving a tattoo, according to an affidavit.

After the employee told him to leave, Shanor allegedly threatened to cut his throat and several people who were in the shop pushed Shanor outside and held the door closed to prevent him from re-entering, according to the affidavit.

Shanor then pulled a folding knife from his pocket, opened it and pounded on the door with the butt end of the knife before leaving, according to the affidavit. Police said Shanor broke the frame that holds the glass in place on the door causing about $75 damage.
