High school sports roundup: Joe Rapp cards 35 for A-C Valley/Union golf

A-C Valley/Union’s Joe Rapp fired a 35 to place second in the individual standings at a KSAC golf match held at Hunter’s Station Golf Course near Tionesta on Wednesday.

The effort was three strokes behind the 32 from Clarion’s Kam Kerle.

Rapp’s teammate, Koen Strauser, added a 38 for the Falcon Knights.

Karns City received a 36 from Joey O'Donnell and Moniteau a 39 from Isaac Book.

The Warriors and Falcon Knights tied for second place in the team standings with 212 strokes. Clarion won with 188.

Hampton 212, Freeport 217 — Aiden Bauman and Stephen Evans both shot 42 to lead the Yellowjackets in this loss at Buffalo Golf Course.

Freeport is now 9-2 on the season.

Hampton’s Jack Ryan earned medalist honors with a 40.

Pine-Richland 188, Butler 213 — Blake Scott’s 37 topped the Golden Tornado’s effort at Treesdale Golf Club. Butler’s record dropped to 4-5.

Will Hilton carded a 36 for the Rams.

Girls Golf

Pine-Richland 174, Butler 201 — At Conley’s Golf Course, the Golden Tornado (6-4) were paced by Paige Ponteous’ 44 while Siena Smith had a 43 for the Rams.

Girls Soccer

Mars scored four of its goals in the second half of a 6-0 shutout of Gateway. No other details were available.

Pine-Richland 1, Butler 0 — The Golden Tornado lost their first section contest in overtime.

North Catholic 2, Knoch 0 — The Trojans (5-0) remained unbeaten with this road win over the Knights. Stats were not reported.
