Highland Games happening in Ligonier once again

The Ligonier Highland Games have taken place for more than 50 years across the grounds of Idlewild Park in Ligonier and are scheduled again this year on Sept. 14 at the park. The games draw competitors and attendees from around the U.S. and from other countries. It's a day filled with music, athletics, dance, food and fun, all celebrating Celtic culture and heritage.

The nonprofit volunteer group that organizes the games use the proceeds to support the scholarship fund of the Clan Donald Educational and Charitable Trust, for students studying in Scotland to support Celtic arts, culture and heritage preservation.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 55 and older, and $10 for ages 13 to 17. Admission for children 12 and younger is free. Parking at Idlewild Park is also free, and the games go on rain or shine.
