Marlene A. Bonyak, 87, of Butler, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 1, 2024.

She was born Aug. 5, 1937, in Butler, daughter of the late Henry Lauteria and Theresa (Giaccomo) Lauteria.

Marlene was a lifelong resident of Butler, graduating from Butler High School. She worked at Boscov’s in Butler and retired in 2020. She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler, where she was part of the Ladies of Charity. She was a member of the Marine Corps League Ladies Auxiliary and loved cats, coloring, reading and working puzzle books.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Michael) MacConnell of Beaver Falls; grandchildren, Dianna (Luc) Carr-Dizinno of Butler, David (Amy) Schmeider of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Robin (Terry) Thompson of Glenshaw; and six great-grandchildren, Charlie, Jack, Hannah, Henry, Benjamin and Teddy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Meredith “Mike” Bonyak; and her son, Matthew Bonyak.

BONYAK — Family and friends of Marlene A. Bonyak, who died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, will gather from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler. Inurnment will follow in St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery.
