And can Seneca Valley, North Catholic and Moniteau get in the win column for the first time tonight? It’s time to find out.

Seneca Valley vs Pine-Richland game canceled by severe weather in Butler County

Even before kickoff, Seneca Valley’s home game with Pine-Richland has been canceled and will not be made up, according to Eagle reporter Will Pitts and the school athletic department’s Twitter/X account.

The National Weather Service at 6:40 p.m. issued a severe storm warning for southern Butler County until 9 p.m. Seneca Valley and Mars, both on the southern side of the county, are at home.

Karns City’s game vs St. Marys also canceled

The Gremlins’ home tilt against St. Marys was postponed to an as-yet-determined date due to severe weather in Butler County that forced delays, cancellations and postponements of several other games.

The game was delayed even before kickoff because of lightning and wasn’t called off until around 8:05 p.m., according to Eagle correspondent John Enrietto.

Knoch vs Fox Chapel game called off due to weather

Severe weather also forced the cancellation of Knoch’s road game against Fox Chapel, despite the Foxes leading 13-7 in the second quarter. The game will not be made up, according to WISR.

Games postponed until Saturday: Quaker Valley vs. Freeport, Union/A-C Valley vs. Keystone and North Catholic vs. Blackhawk

Union/A-C Valley’s road game against Keystone has been postponed until 6 p.m. Saturday, according to YDLSportsNetwork.com. The game had been in a lightning delay since before opening kickoff, as severe weather continues to impact Friday’s football games around Western PA.

North Catholic’s football account on Twitter/X also stated its game against Blackhawk has been postponed until 11 a.m. Saturday.

Quaker Valley-Freeport became the latest to postpone its game around 8:30 p.m. after getting partially through the first quarter. Tied 0-0, the game will be continued at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Severe weather already impacting other games around Western PA

The National Weather Service at 6:40 p.m. issued a severe storm warning for southern Butler County until 9 p.m. Seneca Valley and Mars, both on the southern side of the county, are at home.

Karns City’s home game vs. St. Marys was delayed before kickoff due to lightning and is not expected to start until at least 7:45, according to Eagle correspondent John Enrietto.

Mars’ home game against North Hills was able to start, but lightning with 3 minutes left in the first quarter forced a delay of that game of at least 30 minutes. High school football games cannot resume until 30 minutes after the latest lightning strike.

And Freeport’s home game against Quaker Valley, tied 0-0, was also delayed by lightning with 6:12 left in the first quarter.
