Congratulations to Hometown Heroes committee

On Saturday, Aug. 31, at Butler’s amazingly restored historical Penn Theater, the Butler Football Hometown Heroes committee inducted Brian Minto, the well-deserving legendary Butler athlete. The excellent program included an inspiring documentary film on his life. Congratulations to Brian, his family and DeQwan Young, producer and director of the documentary.

For nearly 125 years, the Butler High School Athletic program has been a positive influence on young athletes, leading them toward adulthood and their potential for realizing its possibilities. Over the years, the Butler High School Athletic department has expanded the football tradition to an impressively wide variety of athletic-based educational opportunities for our community’s boys and girls. Butler High athletics is first and foremost about the personal and communal values which lead to a good life and good citizenship.

The Butler Football Hometown Heroes committee deserves recognition for emphasizing Butler High history and keeping tradition alive. Congratulations and thank you to Kevin and Joni Vogel and their outstanding committee: Ralph McElhaney, Chris Morrow, Jeanine Galante, Sue Christy, Jason Cherry and John Enrietto.

Dave and Lynn McKinnis, Butler
