Underground utility work on Freedom Road expansion to begin Monday

From Monday through Thursday, crews will work on underground utility crossings between Haine School and Lovi roads in Cranberry Township as part of the Freedom Road expansion project.

A news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said there will be a nighttime single lane closure with flagging operations from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists may experience delays during the construction. Work is weather-dependent.

This project is an extension of Freedom Road, which includes the installation of new highway and turning lanes. The project also includes road widening; paving; drainage; signal upgrades and replacements; lighting work; highway realignment and safety improvements; and sidewalks.
