Puppy plunge makes a splash

Cranberry Township’s annual Puppy Plunge took place Saturday at the Cranberry Township Waterpark. When the pool closes for the season, dogs finally get their day — in the pool, that is — before the pool is cleaned and shuttered for the winter.

Some say the event is a “paw-some” way to say goodbye to summer and enjoy a pool party with your pooch.

The waterpark, located in North Boundary Park, 450 North Boundary Park Drive, hosted two sessions Saturday: from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dog owners were required to show proof of current rabies vaccinations.

My Dog’s Care Center, Cranberry Veterinary Hospital and Bridge City Braces sponsored the event.
