Clair H. DeLair
Clair H. DeLair, 91, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 16, 1933, in Penn Township, and was the son of the late Harry R. and Emma (Benninger) DeLair.
Clair was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He liked hunting, NASCAR racing and attending his son's baseball games. He loved spending time with his family, of whom he was so proud. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He had worked hard at a variety of jobs during his lifetime. He owned and worked a family sod farm while also working at Armco, retiring after 38 years. Clair was a kind, giving and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Janet (Fleeger) DeLair; a daughter, Joy (Gregg) Psik of Butler; and two sons, Wade (Gina) DeLair of Clarion and Jeffrey (Karen) DeLair of Reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Clair Kevin DeLair; his wife, Patricia; two grandchildren, Jennafer and Jonathan; a sister; and two brothers.
DELAIR — Friends of Clair H. DeLair, who died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Thursday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with his daughter-in-law, Gina DeLair, officiating.
Interment is in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
Military honors will be at graveside.
