The state Department of Transportation announced that Meridian Road will close on Sept. 16 for the continuation of an $18.7 million corridor improvement project on Route 68 in Butler and Connoquenessing townships.

The road is scheduled to be closed through Oct. 1. The closure will be at the intersection of Meridian Road, Benbrook Road and Route 68 to allow for the replacement of signals, the installation of turn lanes and corridor improvements.

Motorists are advised to use Whitestown Road to access Meridian Road from Route 68.

The three-year project will enhance safety and reduce congestion along Route 68. It is estimated to be wrapped up in November 2025.
