This weekend, Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is partnering with Girl Scouts USA for a series of events at state parks across the commonwealth, including Butler County, as part of the sixth annual “Girl Scouts Love State Parks” weekend scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Sept. 13 to 15.

This is part of a national initiative to attract Girl Scouts to state parks.

Events taking place that weekend are at Jennings Environmental Education Center and McConnells Mill State Park, both on Saturday.

The event at McConnells Mill will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with participants meeting at the Kildoo Picnic Area.

The event at Jennings will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon and will focus on learning how to help rare species of flora and fauna.
