Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are divorced and single
A Florida judge has declared Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner divorced and single, signing off on a confidential agreement reached between the two.
The Miami-Dade County judge approved the agreement on Friday, one year after the 35-year-old Jonas Brothers singer filed to divorce the 28-year-old “Game of Thrones” and “X Men” actor and five years after the two were married.
The split brought a quiet and relatively quick end to a divorce that briefly became acrimonious and looked headed for a long and ugly custody fight.
The documents said that moderated negotiations led to an agreement on splitting assets, spousal support and custody of their two daughters, 4-year-old Willa and 2-year-old Delphine.
Judge Gina Beovides declared that the marriage was “irretrievably broken,” and that the couple's agreement, especially their parenting plan, was in the best interest of the family.
A representative for Turner declined comment. An email seeking comment from a representative for Jonas was not immediately answered.
The couple met through Instagram messages and began dating in 2016. They married in a secretive ceremony at a Las Vegas wedding chapel in May of 2019 after the Billboard Music Awards. Country duo Dan + Shay performed at the wedding.
Jonas filed for divorce in September of 2023. In the filing he sought joint custody and said the two had a pre-nuptial agreement.
The following day the two posted an identical amicable statement to each of their Instagram accounts.
But the split turned into a serious dispute within weeks when Turner sued to force Jonas to turn over the girls' passports so they could join her in her native England.
The daughters, who were born in the U.S. but have dual citizenship, were with Joe Jonas in New York, where he was on tour, according to court documents, in which Turner said they had been planning on raising the girls together in England when their marriage fell apart. Turner said she learned of Jonas' divorce filing through the media, while Jonas said the two had had multiple conversations about it.
The custody fight was dropped in January, a sign that the two were on a path to a settlement.
Turner, who is from Northampton, England, played Sansa Stark for eight seasons on HBO's “Game of Thrones” and played Jean Grey in 2016's “X-Men: Apocalypse” and 2019's “Dark Phoenix.”
The Arizona-born Jonas came to fame with brothers Nick and Kevin in a band starting in 2005 and subsequent Disney Channel series. Last year, they released their sixth studio album and toured U.S. stadiums.

‘The Mentalist’ star Simon Baker pleads guilty to drunk driving
“The Mentalist” star Simon Baker admitted in court Wednesday to drunk driving in his native Australia in July.
The 55-year-old Emmy nominee pleaded guilty to a charge of driving with a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit of 0.05% when he appeared in New South Wales’ Mullumbimby Local Court Wednesday, NBC News reports.
As the “Margin Call” actor was a first-time offender and deemed remorseful, he was released on a nine-month good behavior bond.
“The court has little difficulty in finding that Mr. Baker is remorseful for his offending and it is unlikely he will offend again,” said magistrate Kathy Crittenden, adding that the actor was “very polite and cooperative.” Crittenden in part cited the four character references the court received on behalf of the “Devil Wears Prada” actor.
In the early morning of July 20, authorities stopped Baker in Byron Bay for “swerving over the center line” in his Tesla, as reported by 7News Australia.
They reported that he was “unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech, with watery bloodshot eyes and smelt” of alcohol, per the outlet.
Police ultimately administered an “old-fashioned sobriety test” — as it was in the hours following a worldwide IT outage. Baker, who had been alone in his car at the time, also admitted to having had four glasses of wine with dinner since 6 p.m.
Following the DUI, the court was told Baker also finished a rehabilitation program for traffic offenders.
Baker is best known for starring as the titular “Mentalist” in CBS’ police procedural, which aired from 2008 to 2015. Baker played faux “psychic”-turned-police consultant Patrick Jane, a role for which he scored the show’s sole Emmy nomination.

Dave Grohl says he's father to a new daughter outside his 21-year marriage
LOS ANGELES — Dave Grohl says he recently fathered a daughter outside his 21-year marriage to Jordyn Blum, with whom he has three older daughters.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” the Foo Fighters front man and former Nirvana drummer said Tuesday in an Instagram post. “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Grohl, 55, did not share any other details about the baby or her mother, and his representatives declined any comment beyond the posting.
Grohl married Blum, a former model turned film and television producer, in 2003. They have three daughters together, including 18-year-old singer Violet Grohl, along with a 15-year-old and 10-year-old.
He was previously married to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood, from 1994 until 1997, and has acknowledged that infidelity helped lead to their divorce.
Grohl started the Foo Fighters in 1994, soon after the death of Kurt Cobain brought an end to Nirvana. In 2022 the band's longtime drummer and Grohl's closest friend, Taylor Hawkins, died during a South American tour.
