Police Reports
The following items were collected from various police departments.
9:56 a.m. Aug. 20 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Crisswell Road. Police said Gregg A. Gainer, 61, of West Virginia, pulled a dump truck out of a construction site and hit the driver’s side of a vehicle driven by Karen Getz, 75, of Butler. Police said no injuries were reported but Getz’s vehicle was towed from the scene. Gainer was cited for careless driving.
9:12 a.m. Aug. 20 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Picklegate Bridge. Police said Amanda Thomas, 46, of Butler, drove her vehicle into the back of a vehicle driven by William Bowser, 62, of Butler. Police said no injuries were reported, but Thomas’ vehicle was towed from the scene.
4:41 a.m. Aug. 19 — Police charged Raymond Ondic Jr., 37, of Butler, with public drunkenness after police were dispatched for a man trying to break into Edward’s Ice Cream.
Aug. 9 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Meridian Road. Police said Delaney Shipton, 31, of Butler, swerved to avoid a stopped vehicle, exited the road and crashed into a tree. Police said Shipton suffered multiple injuries, and she was later cited for speeding.
Aug. 9 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 356 at its intersection with Campus Lane. Police said Eric Fleske, 31, of Butler, drove his vehicle into the back of one driven by Herbert Snider, 64, of Butler. Police said no one was injured at the scene. Fleske was later cited with a traffic violation.
Aug. 6 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 422 West at its intersection with Route 8. Police said Katherine Gagliardi, 29, of Butler, drove her vehicle into the rear of one driven by Warren Moik, 39, of Butler. Police said no injuries were reported at the scene.
July 31 — Police responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Route 422 East. Police said Edward Fink, 38, of Chicora, drove his vehicle into the back of a motorcycle ridden by Joshua Savage, 30, of Butler. Police said based on video footage, the motorcycle’s brake lights may not have been functioning.
Aug. 21 — Jairo Nazrio Ordonez Herrera, 24, of Cranberry Township, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Aug. 8 traffic stop at the intersection of Rochester Road and Norman Drive. Police said field sobriety tests showed Herrera was impaired and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.182%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.
Aug. 21 — Latasha G. Birden, 35, of Steubenville, Ohio, was charged with misdemeanor counts of retail theft and possessing stolen property related to a July 12 incident at Walmart. Police said Birden tried to steal more than $300 worth of items by hiding them in grocery bags.
Aug. 17 — Richard K. Klenk II, 51, of Evans City, was charged with felony counts of burglary, trespassing, possessing a gun without a license and misdemeanor criminal mischief related to an Aug. 16 incident on Cranberry Pointe Lane. Police said upon arriving on scene, Klenk notified officers he had a gun in his vehicle, but a check revealed his concealed carry permit had expired. Police said a woman advised Klenk not to come to the home. Police said Klenk still tried to break into the home.
Aug. 15 — Michael Humes, 29, of Pittsburgh, was charged with one misdemeanor count of leaving a vehicle crash related to one on Route 19. Police said Humes hit another vehicle in the Cranberry Mall parking lot and drove away.
Aug. 20 — Elijah S. Myers, 25, of Chicora, was charged with felony counts of theft and unauthorized device access and misdemeanor counts of theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle and identity theft related to an Aug. 6 phone call. Police said Myers’ parents reported their son had stolen their car and spent $1,031 on his mother’s credit card without permission.
Aug. 20 — Patrick G. Ford Jr., 24, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct related to an Aug. 19 domestic disturbance. Police said Ford was drunk when he threatened his father and attacked his sister.
Aug. 20 — Sean A. Vargo, 21, of Cabot, was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of making a false statement during an Feb. 11 gun sale at Rural King in Center Township.
Aug. 20 — Schylore J. Altenburg, 26, of New Castle, was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of making a false statement during an Aug. 22, 2023, gun sale at Rural King in Center Township. Police said Altenburg failed to note his criminal history.
