The Pennsylvania State Police has partnered with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in celebrating Child Passenger Safety Week which runs Sunday through Sept. 21.

In honor of the week, Troop D in Butler will host a free child passenger safety check event from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Adams Township Volunteer Fire District, 645 Route 228, Mars.

Parents and caregivers can have their child’s care seats checked or installed, and police representatives will be on hand to answer any questions.
