BUTLER TWP — A stormwater pipe replacement project will soon take place on Coverdale Road in the township.

During a meeting Monday, Sept. 16, commissioners awarded the contract for the project to Demex LLC for a bid of $29,325, the lowest of four submitted.

The project will address a “depression hole” which is developing between two houses on the road. One commissioner said the hole is 210 feet wide and is expected to grow with each passing rainfall.

Commissioners said work on the pipe repair is expected to commence “as soon as possible,” but did not provide a firm date. They added that the construction would probably take no longer than 30 days.
