Marquardt medalist again as BC3 men’s golf team moves to 8-0
Jacob Marquardt shot a 2-under 70 on Sept. 13 to lead the Butler County Community College men’s golf team to two victories at Lake Arthur Golf Club.
BC3 was undefeated in the 2023, 2022 and 2021 fall seasons and is 8-0 in 2024.
Marquart, a Seneca Valley High School graduate, finished as medalist for the second time this fall. The Pioneers fired a 297 to beat Westmoreland County Community College (350) and the Community College of Allegheny County (374).
BC3’s Kaden Rentz, a Seneca Valley High graduate, had a 74; Parker Worsley, Butler High, a 75; and Xander Downing, Butler, a 78.
Taylor Voloch, Moniteau, shot a 120 in an uncontested women’s field.
The Pioneers will face Westmoreland County Community College, Pennsylvania Highlands Community College and the Community College of Allegheny County at 10 a.m. Sept. 20 at North Park Golf Course, Allison Park.
Anora Robare had 19 assists and Virginia Recchia 11 digs as the Butler County Community College volleyball team swept Penn State DuBois 25-10, 25-16 and 25-12 on Sept. 12 at BC3’s Field House.
BC3 is 9-0 and ranked No. 10 among 87 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III programs.
Molly Bissell and Josie Russo added six kills each for BC3, which is off to the program’s best start since the Pioneers were 16-0 in 2021-2022.
Robare, Recchia and Bissell are graduates of Slippery Rock Area High School and Russo, of Freeport.
