Kevin Anthony

Anthony

Kevin Mark Anthony, 65, of Parker, slipped away peacefully Sunday afternoon, Sept. 15, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness.

Born in Butler County on Oct. 25, 1958, he was the son of the late John A. “Banjo” and Dorothy “Dot” McCoy Anthony.

Following graduation from Allegheny-Clarion Valley School in Foxburg in 1976, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from August 1976 until his honorable discharge in August 1980 with the rank of sergeant. He served as an aircraft electrical systems specialist and was awarded the Small Arms Ribbon, Outstanding Unit Ribbon and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.

After working several jobs, he became an operating engineer with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66, Nicholson Construction, where he retired with 25 years of service. He was affectionately known to fellow workers as “the one-liner.”

The “green cathedral” (the outdoors) was his church, and he was known as an outdoorsman, golfer and avid reader. Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and following the family tradition as a successful gardener. While enjoying many successful hunts and much quality time spent with family, those who knew him understood his favorite food was pizza — especially pepperoni! He was a former member of VFW Post 7073 of Parker and the ACV Sportsmen Club.

Surviving is his loving wife, the former Lucinda Thompson, whom he married on April 3, 1981, in Parker. Together, they built a life that included two sons, Josh (Kim) Anthony and Cody (Heather) Anthony, both of Parker; and two grandchildren, Gunnar and Oakley Anthony, both of Parker. A sister, Carol (Howard) Brown of Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gail Anthony.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for the excellent care, compassion and support provided during this difficult time.

ANTHONY — At the request of the family, all services will be private for Kevin Mark Anthony, who died Sunday afternoon, Sept. 15, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Youth Pheasant Hunt in his name, care of VFW Post 7073 in Parker.

Arrangements were entrusted to H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, 201 S. Wayne St., Parker.
