Connoquenessing Elementary recognized nationally

Connoquenessing Elementary School has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School.

District superintendent Brian White said the prestigious award highlights the hard work, dedication and commitment of the entire Connoquenessing Elementary team to provide an exceptional learning environment for students. More specifically, Connoquenessing was recognized for the work it has done to narrow achievement gaps between student groups and the overall student body, according to a letter from district.

National Blue Ribbon Schools recognizes outstanding public and nonpublic elementary, middle and high schools based on their overall high academic achievement or success in closing the achievement gap among diverse groups of students. Since its inception in 1982, program’s goals are to shine a spotlight on the best schools in the United States and to share best practices of outstanding schools across the country, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

White said this honor extends beyond the walls of Connoquenessing Elementary, and is a “reflection of the outstanding educational experiences provided across our entire district.”
