NBC News is reporting that former President Donald Trump will return to Butler County on Saturday, Oct. 5, less than three months after the rally at the Butler Farm Show where an attempt on his life occurred.
No local source has confirmed the reports. NBC News’ report quotes sources which requested anonymity.
Mike Walsh, chairman of the board of the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, said the Trump campaign has not been in contact with the airport regarding scheduling a rally there.
The Trump campaign attempted to hold the July rally at the airport, but were denied due to a schedule conflict, as the airport was hosting a car cruise. This led the Trump campaign to choose the Farm Show grounds as their site.
“It’s just rumors around town, but they haven’t requested anything at this time,” Walsh said.
In addition, Matt Knoedler, communications director for Congressman Mike Kelly, R-Pa., has no information at present about a rally planned for Butler County for Oct. 5.
“No info from our office,” Knoedler said.
Kelly, along with several members of his family, was present for the July rally at the farm show grounds.
