Christopher Young
Christopher A. Young, 53, of Butler, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, surrounded by family while under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 6, 1970, in Butler, he was the son of Regis Young and Joan Ritzert Spaulding.
Chris graduated from Karns City High School and earned his associate degree at Butler County Community College. Chris was dedicated to his work. He was employed by Veka Inc. for more than 30 years. He began as a quality control technician and worked his way up to become a divisional sales manager. He and his wife, Jody, have owned and operated Prima Capelli Salon since October 2010. It has grown to 30 employees and each of them is treated like family.
Chris loved sports. He enjoyed golfing and hunting and was a member of Happy Hunters. He enjoyed the Pirates, the Penguins and the Steelers. He sponsored several youth sport teams over the years and coached his children’s teams. He loved traveling and spending time with his wife and family, and “date night” dinners. He was generous, selfless and very giving. He had the best sense of humor and a whimsical wink. Chris will be remembered for spreading joy, his fun-loving way and his infectious laugh. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Chris leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 12 years, Jody Bertoncello Young; his children, Zane (Alyssa), Hope, Jamie and Josh; his grandchildren, Reese, Westen, Lexus and Giavanna; his parents, Regis (Alice) Young and Joan (Charles) Spaulding; his brothers, Kevin (Bobbie) and Nathan (Briana); and several nieces and nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Herbert and Mary Ritzert; his paternal grandparents, William and Marcella Young; and a nephew, Kolton Young.
YOUNG — Friends of Christopher A. Young, who died Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, with Pastor Bob Thomas officiating. Please meet at the church.
Chris will be laid to rest at the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Butler.
