Interstate 79 congested in Muddy Creek
Traffic on Interstate 79 around Muddy Creek Township and Portersville, near the 94.8 mile marker, is backed up as of 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
According to scanner reports, the Portersville/Muddy Creek Volunteer Fire Department is performing traffic control on that section of road to assist the Pennsylvania State Police, who are searching for a suspect who fled police during a traffic stop.
At one point, a state police helicopter was reportedly dispatched but then called back.
Motorists who use I-79 in that area are advised to use alternate routes until the situation is cleared.
