A post office opened on Ekastown Road in Sarver on Sept. 26, 1970, which doubled the space of the former post office on the same street at the time.

The postmaster of the office, Dean Risch, said the additional space was needed to serve the growing population of the southeastern corner of Butler County. The office would be the headquarters for local service for three rural mail routes in the county, serving more than 1,500 people in Buffalo and Clinton townships at the time.

A member of the Keystone Tall Tree Girl Scout Council Troop of Sarver, 15-year-old Diane Marie Drobka, compiled a booklet containing detailed information on Buffalo Township in preparation for the post office’s opening.
