Trump to return to Farm Show Grounds Oct. 5

FILE - Former President Donald Trump speaks at a rally, Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, in Conroe, Texas. Trump is endorsing Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania’s crowded Senate primary, ending months of jockeying for Trump's support. Trump says in a statement that his decision is “all about winning elections” as he backs the celebrity heart surgeon best known as the host of daytime TV’s “The Dr. Oz Show.” Trump had previously endorsed Sean Parnell in the race, but Parnell withdrew amid allegations of abuse from his estranged wife. Butler County Commissioner Leslie Osche confirmed Wednesday, Sept. 25, former President Donald Trump will be returning to the Butler Farm Show Grounds in Connoquenessing Township on Oct. 5.

Osche said she was able to confirm the Trump campaign’s return to Butler County this morning after a phone conversation with Butler Farm Show representatives.

“I honestly am not surprised because he said he would return,” Osche said.

Trumps return to Butler County will come nearly three months after holding a campaign rally on July 13, when the event abruptly ended when the former president was nearly assassinated by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park.

The gunshots fired by Crooks killed Buffalo Township resident Corey Comperatore and injured James Copenhaver, 74, of Moon Township and David Dutch, 57, of New Kensington. Crooks was killed by a Secret Service countersniper team.

Details about the rally were not available Wednesday.
