Janet Karlovich
Janet (Wible) Karlovich, 83, formerly of East Brady, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, at Concordia of Bridgeville.
Born Nov. 22, 1940, in Butler, Janet was the daughter of William and Martha (Maharg) Wible. Janet grew up on a dairy farm south of Butler, helping out with farm operations, including the family’s egg route. She was named Miss Milk Maid (Dairy Princess) in approximately 1960.
Janet was a graduate of Penn Township (Knoch) High School. She attended Slippery Rock State College (now University) and earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education, specifically health and physical education.
Janet was a health and physical education teacher at East Brady Area High School, EBAHS, from 1962 to 1969, and later was a substitute teacher within the Armstrong School District for many years. Janet served as cheerleader coach while at EBAHS.
On June 26, 1965, Janet married Fred Karlovich of East Brady, formerly of Commodore, Pa., who was also a teacher at EBAHS. Janet and Fred resided in East Brady for over 50 years.
Janet took great pride in being a wife, mom and homemaker. She most enjoyed time spent with family and was also an avid bird-watcher.
Janet was a member of First Presbyterian Church of East Brady.
She is survived by two sons, Eric Karlovich of State College and Brian (Joelle) Karlovich of Canonsburg; two grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew Karlovich, both of Canonsburg; and three sisters, Gladys Neely of Gibsonia, Alice McCullough of Hendersonville, N.C., and Martha McFarland of Indiana, Pa.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; sisters, Eleanor Chambers and Catherine Kresge; and brothers, Roger Wible and Curtis Wible.
KARLOVICH — Friends of Janet (Wible) Karlovich, who died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady.
Private burial will follow in St. Eusebius Cemetery.
The Karlovich family suggests that memorials be made in Janet’s name to First Presbyterian Church, 102 Fourth St., East Brady, PA 16028.
