Sports museum unveils new entryway experience for visitors

The Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum at the Heinz History Center unveiled a revamped entryway featuring an immersive locker room and stadium tunnel experience, along with new artifacts and updates to the museum’s Charity Randall Theater.

Fans will make their way through a locker room room through a tunnel lined with motivational quotes like “Winning Starts Here” from the Civic Arena locker room.

Visitors can explore uniforms and equipment used by athletes from the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, University of Pittsburgh, P3R, Pittsburgh Riverhounds and more.

The tunnel leads to an updated multimedia experience in the theater, featuring a highlight reel that showcases great moments in Western Pennsylvania sports history, such as the Steelers’ Super Bowl victories, the Immaculate Reception and Bill Mazeroski’s 1960 World Series Game 7 home run.
