Police: Seneca Valley administrator, football coach confront neighbors following road graffiti incident

A Seneca Valley school administrator and the SV varsity football coach were among those involved in a neighborhood dispute Friday, Sept. 20, following SV’s 42-13 loss to Moon.

Police said Trisha Butschle, co-principal at Ryan Gloyer Middle School, and Ron Butschle, the Raiders’ head football coach, confronted Jason Kratochvil, of Zelienople, after Kratochvil was seen writing the game score on the road near the Butschle residence.

Zelienople police said they arrived shortly after 10 p.m. Friday to a home in Harmony, where several individuals were yelling and arguing.

Police said they separated the individuals, and then spoke with Jeff Fisher, the owner of the home. Fisher said he was with Kratochvil when he wrote the game's score on the road.

Fisher’s son, also Jeff Fisher, said Trisha Butschle followed Fisher and Kratochvil in her car and that Ron Butschle and other members of the SV coaching staff joined her at the Fisher residence.

The elder Fisher said his 10-year-old daughter was the person who answered the door to find the Butschles and a group of other individuals. He told police the situation “scared her to the point that she ran inside and called 911,” according to the police report.

Fisher on Friday, Sept. 27, said he did not expect the situation to escalate to the point where individuals would come to his home.

“I just can’t believe it ended up what it was,” Fisher said. “The police talked to everybody. It was pretty deescalated once they got there.”

Kratochvil acknowledged he had written the score of the football games on the road several times after seeing the team’s performance this year, according to police. Kratochvil also apologized, according to police.

Ron Butschle advised Kratochvil he could “feel free at anytime to come down to the practice field and help out,” according to the police report.

Seneca Valley School District’s director of athletics and activities, Heather Lewis, said she did not have a comment on the incident. The district’s communications director, Linda Andreassi, did not respond to requests for comment.

Neither Trisha Butschle nor Ron Butschle replied to the Butler Eagle’s requests for comment before publication.

Zelienople police have not made any arrests in relation to the Friday incident.
