Franklin D. Petrilla, 90, of Saxonburg, formerly of Apollo, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Frank was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Kiski Township. He was the son of George Petrilla and Katherine Byers Petrilla. He graduated from Apollo High School in 1952. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1962.

Frank was self-employed, having owned Frank's Construction for 50 years and had also worked for Met Life. Frank was a devout Christian and was of the Methodist faith. He was very active in church, having served in various capacities. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Coudersport Consistory. Frank was past president of the Western Wheelers and Dealers Square Dance Club. He enjoyed square dancing and camping and was an avid Steelers fan.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Lou Petrilla, whom he married Aug. 26, 1988; two sons, Frank W. (Kelly) Petrilla and Randy (Sue) Petrilla, both of Apollo; his daughter, Nancy (Roger) Baker of Freeport; two sisters, Donna Stone of Apollo and Faye Klingensmith of Connecticut; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his Dachshund, Maggie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sylvia White Petrilla; six brothers, Charles, George, John, Ralph, Robert and Daniel; and six sisters, Alice, Margaret, Sophie, Kate, Ann and Sara Jane.

PETRILLA — Private services for Franklin D. Petrilla, who died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, were held at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.

Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery in Apollo.
