Noted tenor performs ‘Ave Maria,’ other songs at Trump rally

Tenor Christopher Macchio entertains the crowd during Donald Trump’s return rally at the Butler Farm Show grounds on Saturday, Oct. 5. Rob McGraw/Butler Eagle

Former President Donald Trump supporters who entered the Butler Farm Show grounds early on Saturday morning were treated to the talents of acclaimed tenor Christopher Macchio, who belted out a medley of patriotic tunes.

As one of the three New York Tenors, Macchio sold out 10 consecutive concerts at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York City.

Macchio’s dulcet tones closed the Republican National Convention on July 18. The convention opened on July 15, just two days after Trump’s ear was grazed by a assassin’s bullet during his first rally at the farm show grounds.

Country music superstar Lee Greenwood sings a rendition of his “God Bless the U.S.A.” during former President Donald Trump’s return rally at the Butler Farm Show grounds on Saturday, Oct. 5. Rob McGraw/Butler Eagle

Later, singer Lee Greenwood introduced Trump with “God Bless the U.S.A.,” the song that usually plays while Trump comes on stage.

Macchio also sang “Ave Maria” later in the rally after a moment of silence in honor of Corey Comperatore, the man killed at Trump’s July 13 rally, and multiple songs following Trump’s remarks.
