The Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference men’s golf championship remains in Butler.

Led by a championship performance by Jacob Marquardt, Butler County Community College won a fourth straight conference title Friday at the Links at Spring Church.

The Pioneers’ 621 two-day total easily beat second-place Westmoreland County Community College’s 664. It’s BC3’s 10th conference title in the last 11 years and 14th since coach Bill Miller took over the program in 1972, according to BC3.

Marquardt, a Seneca Valley graduate, put together two strong days of his own to win the individual championship, the Pioneers’ fourth in a row, as well. He shot a 77 on Thursday and a 76 Friday, finishing with a 9-over 153.

It’s BC3’s seventh individual conference crown since 2013, according to the school.

Five Pioneers finished in the Top 10: Marquardt, Mitchell Covert (156, finished second after three tiebreaker holes), Xander Downing, Parker Worsley (159) and Kaden Rentz (164).

Downing and Worsley are Butler High grads, and Rentz also went to SV.

On the women’s side, Taylor Voloch finished second behind Westmoreland’s Jada Ford.
