Dorothy ‘Marlene’ Green

Dorothy “Marlene” (Fennell) Green, 86, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born Nov. 19, 1937, in Fenelton, to the late William Fennell and Irene (Furne) Fennell.

Marlene graduated from Butler High School. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading books, especially romance novels, and was a NASCAR enthusiast.

She is survived by two sons, James (Terra) Green Jr. and Donald Green; four grandchildren, Phillip Green, Megan Shoemaker, David Mills and Erin Roman; and four great-grandchildren, Elliot, Ivy, Noah and Isaac. Also surviving is one brother, David (Nancy) Fennell; and one sister, Ann (Dave) Curtis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Green Sr., whom she married April 19, 1957, and who passed away April 17, 2017; a daughter, Lucinda “Cindy” Fleischer; and two sisters, Catherine Jack and Joyce Sasse.

GREEN — All services for Dorothy “Marlene” (Fennell) Green, who died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, will be held privately per family wishes.

Arrangements are entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
