Joseph John Janukites, 89, of Fenelton, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 18, 1935, in Worthington, to the late Peter Janukites and Sarah (Spiker) Elder.

Joseph retired from the Moonlight Mushrooms mine and as a janitor at Clearfield Elementary School.

He was a member of the Worthington Lutheran Church and the Worthington Lions.

Joseph was the best pap ever, an avid gardener, bird feeder and watcher.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Russ) Baptiste of Butler; grandson, Sam (Stephanie) Barnes Jr. of Fenelton; granddaughter, Jessica Barnes of Michigan; daughter, Julie (Johnny) Compton of Fenelton; grandson, Adam (Tiffany) Compton of West Sunbury; grandson, Ian (Laurel) Compton of Butler; granddaughter, Natalie (Keith) Crissman of Butler; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor, Guadalupe, Westly, Makayla, Adley and Lily; great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Aydrian and Rain; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet Ethel (Hotz) Janukites; and Joe was the last of his siblings.

JANUKITES — Friends of Joseph John Janukites, who died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Worthington Evangelical Lutheran Church, 136 W. Main St., Worthington, with Pastor Will Moser officiating. Interment will be in the Worthington Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Joseph's honor to the Worthington Lions Club or the Worthington Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are under the care of F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, Worthington.
