Kristin Sawicki

Sawicki

Kristin A. Mahan Sawicki, of Valencia, died peacefully at home two days before her 54th birthday on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024.

She was the daughter of the late C. DeWayne “Skip” and Joann King Mahan.

Kris graduated in 1988 from Mars High School, went to the Wilma Boyd School of Travel and attended Butler County Community College. She worked as a server for more than 30 years in many restaurants, the last being Breakneck Tavern in Mars.

Kris worked hard, raised her son and smiled through life’s “hiccups” with fearless courage and faith, always consoling her loved ones with “it will be OK.” Her caring, kind, honest and jovial personality made her a good friend to many. She enjoyed thrift shopping, yard sales, Jamboree in the Hills, demolition derby at the Butler Farm Show, parties with friends and vacation trips. She loved her dogs, especially Molly, who brought her great comfort during her courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by her son, Shane, “her greatest accomplishment” whom she was so very proud of; a sister, Glenda Comley; brother in-law, Bob Dolence; brother, Kevin Mahan; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Keith “Noodle” Mahan.
