Police: Butler man airlifted to UPMC with accidental gunshot wound sustained in drive-through
A Butler man was taken by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital after he shot himself Thursday, Oct. 10, while going through a fast food restaurant’s drive-through in Butler Township, police said.
The 30-year-old accidentally shot himself in the leg about 7:30 p.m. as he was attempting to take his wallet out of his front pocket at the Burger King drive-through on Pittsburgh Road, according to Butler Township police.
The man was taken by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was not identified by police in a Friday news release.
The Butler Township Police Department is investigating the incident.
