Driver sustains minor injuries in crash along I-79 southbound Friday

A 28-year-old Sharon woman sustained minor injuries when her car overturned after colliding with a dead deer Friday, Oct. 11, on I-79 southbound at mile marker 90.8 in Lancaster Township.

Morgan E. Griffith, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by Harmony EMS to UPMC Jameson.

After running over the deer, Griffith’s 2019 Toyota Corolla left the right side of the road and overturned, coming to rest in the right lane, according to a report from Pennsylvania State Police in Butler.

In addition to Pennsylvania State Police, Harmony Fire District, Portersville-Muddy Creek emergency and Harmony EMS units were dispatched to the scene about 6:30 a.m., according to Butler County 911.

The scene was cleared at about 7:30 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police.
