The Sam’s Club at Moraine Pointe Plaza reached its 20-year anniversary Monday, Oct. 14, along with several “charter associates” who have been with the store since it opened in 2004.

Moe Goodwin, the store’s manager, said Monday the anniversary was an opportunity to recognize the employees of the Sam’s Club, who have helped the business serve the Butler community for two decades. Goodwin has also been with the store since it opened, and has worked for Sam’s Club for 28 years.

“I have at least five who have been here for 20 years; we call them charter associates,” Goodwin said. “It has just been nice to service and serve the community.”

Goodwin said the club has maintained about 145 to 150 employees since 2004, and business has kept steady throughout the years. According to Goodwin, the club has added some initiatives in recent years as well, like curbside pickup and delivery options, which have grown popular.

The Sam’s Club is the only one in Butler County, and Goodwin said it has been successful thanks to the local staff members who work at the store.

“It’s a lot of hardworking people; the community has been more than welcoming to us,” Goodwin said.
