Police Reports
Sept. 23 — Garrett S. Straffon, 33, of Harrisville, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Aug. 4 dispatch for a driver slumped behind the wheel of their vehicle on Main Street in Harrisville. Police said field sobriety tests showed Straffon was impaired, and a later blood test showed buprenorphine in his system.
Sept. 22 — Philip B. Eberhardt, 46, of Duquesne, Pa., was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a Sept. 22 traffic stop on Evans City Road in Harmony. Police said field sobriety tests showed Eberhardt was impaired. Police said Eberhardt later refused to have his blood tested.
Sept. 19 — Dennis M. Williams, 41, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI and drug paraphernalia possession related to an Aug. 16 traffic stop on Route 8 in Center Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Williams was impaired, and a later blood test showed marijuana and cocaine in his system.
Sept. 19 — Patrick A. McDonald, 54, of Lyndora, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Aug. 20 traffic stop on Route 8 in Butler Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed cocaine, fentanyl and prescription medications in his system.
Sept. 19 — Eugene C. Ward, 36, of Ijamsville, Md., was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI related to an Aug. 3 traffic stop in Summit Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Ward was impaired, and a later blood test showed marijuana in his system, as well as a blood alcohol content of 0.112%. In Pennsylvania, .08% is the legal limit.
Sept. 19 — Chad T. Bennett, 39, of Washington, Pa., was charged with one felony and one misdemeanor counts of making a false statement during a gun purchase Dec. 10, 2023, at Rural King in Center Township. Police said Bennett failed to note his criminal history.
Sept. 19 — Jeffrey Barber, 48, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a July 8 traffic stop on Protzman Road in Butler. Police said field sobriety tests showed Barber was impaired. Barber later refused further testing.
Sept. 18 — Richard K. Younkins III, 53, of Natrona Heights, Pa., was charged with misdemeanor making a false statement during an attempted gun purchase Jan. 5 in Summit Township. Police said Younkins did not note his dishonorable discharge from the military, nor did he note his criminal history.
Sept. 18 — Sean P. McCullough, 44, of Butler, was charged with one felony and one misdemeanor counts of making a false statement during a gun purchase Sept. 29, 2023, at Sportsmans Supply in Summit Township. Police said McCullough failed to note his mental health history.
Sept. 17 — Nicole A. Weltz, 45, of Evans City, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a traffic stop on Clubhouse Road in Connoquenessing Township. Police said Weltz had an active arrest warrant, and during her arrest, field sobriety tests showed she was impaired. Police said Weltz later refused to have her breath or blood tested.
