John Breitenbach

John Breitenbach, 72, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024.

Born Aug. 27, 1952, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John P. and Anna (Schneltzer) Breitenbach.

John was a dedicated family man and a skilled mechanic by trade. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved the outdoors. Most importantly, he was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was quick to help others, and even quicker to laugh; a man with a great sense of humor who enjoyed living life to its fullest, whether out hunting with his dog, Sparky, or playing dominoes or Rummikub on family game night, John was always fun-loving, kindhearted, and had a smile or joke for everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; son, John; son, Mike (spouse Meredith); grandchildren, Sophia, Morgan, Helen and John; sister, Barbara “Bonnie” McGaffic; and mother, Anna.

BREITENBACH — The family of John Breitenbach, who died Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at KING FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 2841 Woodland Circle in Allison Park.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name to a wildlife conservation group like Pheasants Forever (www.pheasantsforever.org) or the Ruffed Grouse Society (www.ruffedgrousesociety.org) would have made him happy to support nonprofits helping conserve our precious natural resources, God’s creatures and their habitats.

Expressions of sympathy may be shared with John’s family at www.kingfuneralhome.com.
